Litigation Paralegal - DOJ EOUSA - Norfolk, VA

Gilchrist Global Strategies has a great job opportunity to work as a Paralegal supporting the work performed by the Department of Justice (DOJ). You will work supporting attorneys in various stages of case preparation and management, from discovery through trial.


Responsibilities/Duties

  • Compile, prepare, and summarize relevant materials for attorneys to use in discovery and in the preparation of motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Summarize depositions, transcripts, and maintain case files.
  • Conduct basic legal research and ensure the organization of document discovery, including management of materials received and produced.
  • Track exhibits and materials at depositions and trials and prepare exhibit cross-references.
  • Assist attorneys in the courtroom and review documents for relevance and privilege as per established guidelines.
  • Compile documents for various requests such as FOIA, Congressional inquiries, and production requests.
Requirements
  • US Citizenship
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain MRPT facility credentials/authorization
  • A Paralegal Certificate, at least three years' experience in a legal environment.
  • Proficiency with various computer applications, including word processing, databases, and spreadsheets is necessary.
  • Organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources
