ASSEMBLER
Description

PRIMARY POSITION OBJECTIVE

JOB SUMMARY: The Assembler is responsible for assisting other Assembly employees to ensure optimal machine production and efficiencies. This position will assist and support all production operations to optimize output and minimize waste while maintaining excellent quality and safety standards. May be involved in solving process related issues and problems on a day-to-day basis.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The primary job function will be to assist in the manufacture of quality products (per customer standards) as determined by the production schedule and/or supervisor.
  • Must be flexible and open to changes in the work environment, and deal with frequent changes or unexpected events.
  • Able to creatively solve problems and assist in finding solutions to complex problems to improve plant efficiencies and ensure efficient workflow.
  • Assists team members as needed.
  • Interact with all plant departments on different levels to address process problems (Quality, Maintenance, Scheduling, Customer Service, Shipping and Assembly).
  • Give and welcome feedback to support the efforts of the Assembly team.
  • Attend all Safety training and comply with all safety initiatives related to equipment and OSHA regulatory standards

  • No Supervision of other employees required

KEY CONTACTS

Assembly Floor Supervisor / Assembly Floor Lead / Assembly Floor Associates

  Frequency - Daily 

  Purpose - General updates and coordination of the day-to-day assembly activities.


Production Manager Assembly

  Frequency - As Needed

  Purpose - Discuss any production issues or concerns and coordination


Warehouse

  Frequency - As Needed

  Purpose - Discuss any issues or concerns and coordination


Quality Assurance 

  Frequency - As Needed

  Purpose - To discuss any Quality issues or concerns and coordination


Plant Manager

  Frequency - As needed

  Purpose - To discuss production issues or concerns and coordination



Scheduling

  Frequency - As needed

  Purpose - To discuss production issues or concerns and coordination


All other Mangers 

  Frequency - As needed

  Purpose - Discuss any issues or concerns and coordination

Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or GED, associate’s degree and/or industrial certification preferred.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Good critical judgment and initiative
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to rapidly changing priorities
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred
  • Experience and skill with assembly process and equipment

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSBILITIES

  • Support process improvement activities
  • Assist in identifying best practices and standard methods to use on all crews.
  • Assist with the Assembly processes.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  • Production experience in the Assembly process preferred but not required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with Assembly team members.
  • Assure 5S, and standardized work compliance and development
  • Uphold ProPulse’s commitment to safety and follow safety procedures
  • Ability to work independently and excel with minimum supervision

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Physically able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Standing up 8-10 hours per day with a normal 5 days per week work schedule
  • Occasional twisting, turning, or bending to move items up to 40 lbs.
  • Alert state of mind to avoid safety hazard
  • Required to verbally communicate, hear, smell, stand, sit, walk, climb stairs and ladders, balance, bend, and stoop.
  • Vision requirements of the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus to perform all functions safely.
  • Exposed to typical plant environment with periodic exposure to inclement weather (dumping trash), noise, oil, grease, and chemical odors to some extent.
  • Near and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
