We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Plumbing Design Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Position Summary

As a Plumbing Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing plumbing system designs from schematic design through construction administration across a wide range of project types including offices, retail, condominiums, industrial, and multifamily residential developments. This position includes performing engineering assignments with clearly defined objectives, contributing to technical drawings, and participating in project coordination under the guidance of Project Managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform design and layout of plumbing systems for various building types.
     
  • Complete plumbing calculations including sizing for water, storm, equipment, and pipe systems.
     
  • Design sanitary waste, vent, stormwater, and domestic water systems.
     
  • Select, schedule, size, and specify basic plumbing system components.
     
  • Participate in the development of plumbing design documents and construction administration.
     
  • Coordinate designs with architectural and other engineering disciplines.
     
  • Apply sound engineering judgment under the oversight of a Project Manager.
     
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering plans, specifications, and construction documents.
     
  • Perform site visits and inspections as required.
     
Requirements

 

Qualifications

Education:

  • BS in Engineering (preferred)
     

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in building plumbing systems design (required)
     
  • 2+ years of hands-on plumbing design experience (preferred)
     
  • Consulting engineering firm experience highly desirable
     
  • Exposure to multi-family and commercial design is a plus
     

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD (ACAD required)
     
  • Knowledge of Revit is a plus
     
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
     
  • Familiarity with power distribution systems design is an added benefit
