JOB TITLE: Repair/Maintenance Worker

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

This position is responsible for the overall maintenance and smooth operation of the facility's essential systems and equipment, performing a variety of plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance tasks, while ensuring a safe and functional environment.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

· Executes general plumbing and electrical repairs: Performs skilled repairs on the facility's plumbing and electrical equipment and systems, ensuring optimal functionality.

· Conducts routine inspections and diagnostics: Systematically inspects equipment and systems to proactively identify and diagnose potential problems or malfunctions.

· Utilizes technical documentation for problem resolution: Consults blueprints, building plans, and technical manuals to determine effective solutions for complex system and equipment issues.

· Implements preventative maintenance programs: Develops and carries out routine preventative maintenance procedures for plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems to ensure continuous, efficient operation.

· Coordinates specialized repair services: Procures and manages services from external contractors when specialized expertise is required for complex repairs.

· Maintains facility cleanliness: Executes general cleaning tasks throughout the facility to ensure a safe, sanitary, and organized environment.

· Manages maintenance and cleaning inventory: Maintains accurate inventory of all cleaning and maintenance supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.

· Performs other related duties as assigned: Undertakes additional tasks and responsibilities as required to support the overall operational needs of the facility.

Requirements

  

Minimum Training and Experience: 

This position requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent, along with six months to one year of experience in general facilities and grounds maintenance. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of training and experience that demonstrates the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities will be considered. 

 
 

Required Skills and Abilities:

· Proficiency in Plumbing and Electrical Repair: Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in general plumbing and electrical repair techniques.

· Technical Literacy: Possesses the ability to interpret blueprints, building plans, and repair manuals to effectively diagnose and resolve technical issues.

· Competency with Tools and Equipment: Exhibits proficient use of a variety of hand tools and power tools to safely and effectively complete assigned tasks.

· Adherence to Procedures: Demonstrates a strong ability to follow instructions accurately and consistently.

· Effective Time Management: Utilizes strong time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work efficiently.

· Analytical and Problem-Solving Acumen: Exhibits strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling thorough assessment and effective resolution of complex issues

 

Physical Requirements:

· Physical Stamina: Able to endure prolonged periods of standing and walking as required by the job.

· Physical Dexterity: Demonstrates the ability to climb ladders, bend, and crawl into awkward or confined spaces to perform necessary tasks.

· Strength and Lifting Ability: Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds safely and effectively.
