Description
- Performs various technical and clerical duties to assist in providing medications to patients, under the direction of Registered Pharmacist.
- Performs drug distribution duties, including filling unit dose bins, new medication orders, crash carts, and unit dose night locker carts while maintaining high accuracy rate.
- Performs computer function to enter charge/credit items daily.
- Fills/delivers orders with 45 minute turnaround from point of order entry; fills stat orders within a 30 minute turnaround.
- Performs monthly unit inspection in patient areas; reports issues to the Director.
- Assists with maintaining inventory of stock/supplies, expiration dates; rotation of stock.
- Checks stock and delivers pharmacy supplies to other departments daily.
- Enters pharmacy charges into the computer system daily for other departments.
- Other roles and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalency.
- Current Illinois Pharmacy Technician licensure.
- Related experience preferred.
Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated computer skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is of medium demand.
- Routine lifting requirements up to 50 pounds.
- Sitting, bending and reaching required.
- Stands and walks more than 50% of the work day.
- Works inside.
- May handle labeled bio-hazard substances.
