Whisker is based in Auburn Hills, Michigan and Juneau, Wisconsin with 500+ passionate team members. The Regional Sales Manager will be based out of The United Kingdom. 


What You’ll Do:

Whisker is seeking a full time and permanent Regional Sales Manager to drive Whisker’s growth in the EMEA region. Working in tandem with our authorised distribution partners, you will be a self-starter, prepared to roll up your sleeves and evangelise the Whisker brand and products with a specific focus on delivering revenue and margin. 


First-class communication skills – with additional European languages a distinct advantage – will be central to this role where the proven ability to develop lasting relationships with customers (retailers) and partners (distributors, local marketing agencies) will provide the foundation for long-term expansion and revenue growth.


This role will also require a candidate who can capture and analyse local market feedback, sell through data / trends and competitive insights which need to be shared with Whisker HQ teams to help inform future product and marketing initiatives. 


Summary:

The Regional Sales Manager drives revenue and margin growth by managing local distribution partners, overseeing sales forecasting and planning, and maintaining strong customer relationships. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of “the number” – responsible for the achievement of revenue and margin quota
  • Territory Management: leads day-to-day management of local distribution partners, the qualification of and negotiation with new retailers, assessment and execution of promotional opportunities, as well as navigation/management of channel conflict issues
  • Sales Forecast and Planning: creates and maintains, in collaboration with distribution partners, accurate forecasts, budgets and promotional plans
  • Market/sales data: prepares and presents regular sales reports, forecasts, and budgets to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for business growth
  • Manages the alignment of the direct and retail aspects of the regional business in conjunction with the Whisker D2C team
  • Attends trade shows, either in support of distribution partners or on a stand-alone basis
  • Customer Relationship Management: builds and maintains strong relationships with the top 3-5 key customers in each territory. Develops and implements a comprehensive retail sales strategy for each customer aligned with overall company objectives and growth targets
  • Provides support to local marketing agencies (PR, Digital, etc.) in their delivery of local programmes
  • Analyzes sales data, market research, and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement, optimizes pricing strategies, and enhances the overall customer experience
  • Stays updated on industry developments, emerging technologies, compliance, regulations, and retail trends; provides strategic recommendations to senior leadership to stay ahead of the competition
  • Will perform additional responsibilities when required 
Requirements

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven sales track record of consumer products, ideally with domain-specific experience/knowledge of the Pet category and/or the Consumer Technology category, with a minimum of 7-10+ years demonstrable revenue growth across major retail channels
  • Demonstrable success in working with distributors across the region and holding them to performance targets; alternatively you may have worked for a distributor and successfully developed brand penetration within retailer networks
  • Solid understanding of distributor management practices along with direct sales strategies
  • A self-starter, previous experience working with start-ups / new brands in the European territory is highly desirable
  • Excellent communications skills – both verbal and written – with the demonstrable ability to evangelise the Whisker brand and product portfolio, converting that into market traction
  • Strong negotiation abilities coupled with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Professional spoken English
  • Ability to travel freely within Europe (with possible additional travel to the US) 
  • Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Ability to maintain a professional atmosphere in a fast-paced environment with numerous interactions and interruptions
  • A high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and ability to motivate others
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Team Members and colleagues
  • Comfortable with office pets (cats, dogs)

  • One or more additional European language skills
