Description

Lakota Solutions LLC is seeking a Director of Business Development to join our team. The Director-Business Development (Dir-BD) will be responsible for supporting activities throughout the full lifecycle of Business Development. 


This includes building collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, creating opportunities, identifying opportunities, maturing opportunities through the capture process, supporting RFIs, white papers, and proposal processes, and transition of effort to program management after award. 


The Director - Business Development will support AMTS/Lakota Solutions operations and report directly to the President of the company.


Job Responsibilities are as follows, but not limited to: 

  • Manage AMTS/Lakota Solutions BD programs and pipelines 
  • Develop short and long-range strategic objectives and recommend BD goals to management 
  • Define, develop, and implement substantial corporate backlog strategies 
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage new business opportunities, initiatives, partnerships, alliances, joint ventures, or acquisitions 
  • Develop and maintain key business development contacts with current and potential customers and industry partners 
  • Attend networking and business development events to support AMTS/Lakota Solutions programs and strategic objectives 
  • Determine the appropriate professional organizations/societies for corporate membership in support of networking/business development and growth.
  • Lead capture management activities such as build out of capture plans, ensuring plan completion, leading kick off meetings, establishing team resources, and obtaining buy in and approval from all decision makers 
  • Support business development process improvement and process implementation (SOPs, etc.) 
  • Develop a plan for marketing activities to include suggesting marketing content for AMTS/Lakota Solutions' website and social media platforms 
  • Develop initial proposal win strategy and technical approach 
  • Strongly involved in proposal development and management of all volumes 
  • Recommend and manage BD resources and consultants 
  • Manage, inspire, support, train, and equip the BD team(s) to meet and/or exceed established annual corporate BD/Capture goals 
  • Conduct performance evaluations of direct reports and others as required 
Requirements

Candidate must be US Citizen

Bachelor's Degree in related field 

Candidate must have 10+ years relevant experience with the following:

  • Including capture, business development and proposal management in the Federal Marketplace 
  • Demonstrated successes winning new and growing existing business 
  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior business and government leaders 
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership within the workplace 
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision to produce exceptional work 
  • Ability to travel at least 25% of the time 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently in a fast-paced environment (to include but not limited to: Sources Sought/RFI’s/Multi-Volume Proposals) 
  • Strong skill in business writing and technical writing 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience with federal contracting 
  • Masters degree in related field
  • Demonstrated win record in the FedCiv or DoD marketplace 
  • Experience with capture efforts over $10M+ 
  • Experience with multiple contract types: FFP, T&M, CPFF, IDIQ, OTA 
  • Experience with Alaskan Native Corporation (ANC) direct awards and the SBA 8(a) program 
  • Demonstrated success working with and leading geographically distributed teams 
  • Demonstrated success working with multiple programs simultaneously 
  • Experience with federal contracting program cycle: RFI, RFP, proposal, negotiation, baseline, execution, modification, close out 
  • Experience and business contacts with multiple customers: US Army, US Air Force, US Navy, USACE, DLA, and other FedCiv and  DoD contracting agencies 
  • Prior experience in program management 
  • Prior military or government civilian experience 
  • DoD Security Clearance 
  • Familiarity with FAR and DFAR 
  • Familiarity with TAs, NDAs, Subcontracts, and JVs

The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.

$120,000 - $140,000
