Job Summary

Encino Energy is seeking to hire a Reservoir Engineer, reporting directly to the Director, Development & Planning. The Reservoir Engineer will take a leading role in several of the most critical workflows that support the optimal development of Encino’s assets. This position will also be expected to develop projects organically, work independently, and provide technical guidance to the greater organization.  


 Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Lead technical studies to drive the optimization of well performance and development strategy
  • Evaluate proposed investment opportunities
  • Direct engagement in the creation of the 5-year plan and yearly budgeting process including the generation of a development of strategy
  • Perform analysis related to the optimization of 3rd party gathering systems
  • Provide support to the weekly operations planning process including the proposal, evaluation, and recommendation of modifications
  • Generate asset focused well reviews / lookbacks, internal reporting, and data analytics integration 
  • Drive the integration of workflows with peers in Geoscience, Land, Planning, Business Development, Data Analytics, Operations, and Production 
  • Generate, analyze, and disseminate monthly, quarterly, and long-term production forecasts
  • Act proactively to deliver accretive projects across multiple functions in a timely manner 
  • Support the unitization and AFE processes
  • Compile presentations and material related to corporate planning and engineering
  • Lead presentations for recommendations to solve complex technical challenges to management  
Requirements

Qualifications

  • High degree of proficiency in ARIES, Spotfire, Excel, PowerPoint, and Whitson+
  • Competency in other modeling tools such as RTA, nodal analysis, and PVT
  • Competency with SQL database manipulation and related queries. Python programming language a plus
  • Advanced understanding of shale reservoir systems including theory, applications, and latest industry trends
  • Demonstrated experience in shale development, investment evaluation, and budget/plan creation 
  • Knowledge of SEC Reserves classifications and reserves workflows
  • Advanced knowledge of oil and gas operations
  • Strong understanding of oil and gas finance and accounting treatment
  • Strong communication skills spanning verbal, written, and presentation capabilities 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and engage collaboratively with multiple functions
  • Demonstrated track record of leadership, initiative, and multi-functional project management
  • Experience with or exposure to asset acquisitions, organic land capture and valuation, or similar a plus

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in engineering. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a petroleum engineering role including experience driving development of a shale asset.

Travel Requirements

The percentage of travel anticipated for this position is 5 – 10%, including overnight extended stays.


Work Environment

This job is predominately located in a professional office environment with occasional travel to the field operations. 


Work Schedule

Encino has a compressed work week with a “4/9/4” Work Schedule. Employees have the option to work four nine-hour days with the addition of four hours each Friday. Some flexibility in hours is allowed. The selected candidate is expected to work in the office three days a week (Monday – Wednesday) with the option to work remote two days a week.
