Description

Position: Spray Technician (Full-Time) Reports To: Senior Assistant Superintendent FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Department: Agronomy

Job Summary:

 The ideal candidate is someone that communicates well, is self-motivated, has a positive attitude, and is well organized. The Spray Technician is responsible for making all chemical and fertilizer applications under the guidance of Assistant superintendents and Director of Agronomy. This will include detailed record keeping, inventory management, maintenance / calibration of spray and fertilizer application equipment. When there are no larger spray applications planned for the day, the ideal candidate will spend their day spot spraying selective or non-selective herbicides. 

This position coordinates with: 

  • Director of Agronomy
  • Senior Assistant Superintendent
  • Assistant Superintendents

Qualifications: The Spray Technician must meet the below requirements:

  • Experience working on a golf course is preferred, but not required. 
  • A valid State issued Driver’s License.
  • Spanish speaking is a plus but not required. 
  • Meet all Federal and State Employment Eligibility guidelines
  • Must be able to stand on their feet for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry items that are at most 50 pounds 
  • A pesticide license is not required but preferred

Job Tasks / Duties: The Spray Technician job duties include but are not limited to:

Daily Duties

  • Making all chemical and fertilizer applications under the guidance of Assistant superintendents and Director of Agronomy.
  • Detailed record keeping
  • Inventory management
  • Maintenance / calibration of spray and fertilizer application equipment. 
  • Spray selective and non-selective herbicides
  • Perform fertilizer applications on all playing surfaces
  • May help with other tasks on the golf course as directed by supervisor

Schedule:

Monday-Thursday 6-3

Friday 6-10:30

Saturday-Sunday 6-10 with every other weekend off. 

Schedule is subject to change for tournaments and larger maintenance projects.

Salary Description
$18 - 23 / hr
