Histology Technician I
Description

Texas Biomed is searching for a Histology Technician to utilize his or her skills in support of research and monitor the overall health of our Non-human primate colonies on campus.


The Role

· Receive surgical and necropsy requisitions, create accessions, and maintain records.

· Perform tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, cover slipping of formalin fixed tissues as well as embedding and sectioning of Optimal Cutting Temperature (OCT) compound frozen tissue samples.

· Perform special stains.

· Maintain quality control/assurance records.

· Maintain, operate and report conditions of standard support equipment.

· Clean, sanitize, and restock histology laboratory.


Our Ideal Candidate

· High school diploma or GED required.

· Minimum of 6 months experience performing histology techniques required.

· Histology Technician (HT) certification from ASCP preferred.
