The Maintenance Supervisor oversees activities for the physical operation and maintenance of York production equipment, facilities/utilities, all York properties, and all Stonewall Kitchen Retail Stores. Schedules/coordinates projects and duties for direct reports as well as outside entities, oversees maintenance & repair work, and collaborates on projects as needed. Provides direct support for York Retail and indirect support through third party contractors as other Retail locations.
JOB SUMMARY
1) Manage the safe behavior of all direct reports and promote safety stewardship throughout all points of contact at Stonewall Kitchen.
2) Participate, as assigned, as an active member of the Safety Committee and follow all company safety policies and procedures
3) Champion a culture of Continuous Improvement and make suggestions/recommendations regarding staffing, operational issues, and other department-related matters
4) Manage, train, coach, and develop staff of Mechanics to maintain Production equipment in the Kitchen, Packing, and Warehouse areas to meet the service, cost, efficiency, safety, and food safety objectives of the business
5) Manage, train, coach, and develop staff of Facilities Attendants to support the emergent needs of infrastructure equipment, buildings, and property, and company stores to meet the service, cost, efficiency, safety, and food safety objectives of the business.
6) Manage and coordinate all relationships with external resources, contractors, and regulatory bodies to achieve the business objectives related to maintenance and facilities on the York campus and company stores.
7) Manage and maintain preventative maintenance programs and/or inspections for all areas under management, including but not limited to:
- Production Equipment
- Building Systems – HVAC, chillers/freezers, boilers, air compressors, propane supply, boilers, etc.
- Grounds – parking areas, loading dock, sidewalks, exterior doors/walls/roofs, landscaping, etc.
- Safety equipment – ladders, eye wash stations, fire extinguishers, etc.
- Company vehicles
8) Schedule and manage all utilities related to Retail stores, including starting and stopping of electricity, gas, water, sewer, etc., as situations dictate, in collaboration with Retail Management.
9) Manage a spare parts and supplies system for all areas under management of the position.
10) Coordinate all activities, where applicable, through various company work order systems
11) Prepare budgets and work scopes for maintenance activities and maintain appropriate records
1) High School Diploma. Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
2) Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience, with demonstrated, strong aptitude in mechanical system functioning such as production & warehouse equipment, HVAC, plumbing, basic electrical, and related skills.
3) Attention to detail and able to develop and maintain systems, files, and records.
4) Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office preferred)
5) Strong oral and written communication skills to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
6) Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs on a regular basis daily
7) This position will require ability to stand, move about in cramped or otherwise hard-to-access areas, including frequent use of stairs/ladders, for extended periods of time.
8) Occasionally work after hours or weekends as situations dictate
9) May be required to work excess of 40 hrs per week as business needs require
