STRUCTURAL DESIGN ENGINEER JOB SUMMARY
Completes tasks under the direction and supervision of a Project Manager or Senior Project Engineer. Provides basic engineering calculations and analyses support in the office and in the field on a variety of engineering projects. Supports designs and detailing of structural components for building/structure permit submittals.
STRUCTURAL DESIGN ENGINEER JOB DUTIES
- Assists in developing the structural design for a variety of engineering projects.
- Performs calculations for components of structures.
- Creates construction plans and details for structures conforming with company standards.
- Works closely with team members to gain understanding of project requirements and tasks as well as office procedures, policies, and guidelines.
- Listens and communicates effectively with staff to maintain a team atmosphere.
- Works under budgets and timetables assigned by the Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Architectural or Civil Engineering with emphasize in structures from an accredited college.
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in structural analysis, design, and detailing of structures.
- Knowledge and experience in concrete, steel, and masonry structural systems.
- Knowledge and experience in commercial structural analysis and design software.
- Knowledge of the California Building Code and ASCE 7.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is preferred.
- EIT preferred.
