The National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) mission is to help save lives and reduce loss with information, knowledge and passion. An International self-funded nonprofit established in 1896, we are dedicated to the elimination of death, injury, property and economic loss due to fire, electrical and related hazards. The Association delivers information and knowledge through more than 300 consensus codes and standards, research, training, education, outreach and advocacy; and by partnering with others who share an interest in furthering the NFPA mission. 


Formed in 1982, as the research affiliate of NFPA, the Fire Protection Research Foundation is an independent nonprofit whose mission is to plan, manage and communicate research in support of the association. Since then, the Foundation has facilitated major research programs (both domestic and international in scope) that address industry challenges in multiple areas, including detection and signaling, hazardous materials, electrical safety, fire suppression, storage of commodities, and firefighter protective clothing and equipment, among other issues.


The NFPA Research Foundation is looking to add a Grants/Contract Administrator to the team! The Grants/Contract Administrator would operate independently with guidance from the supervisor, provides support to the team in the pursuit, negotiation, project set-up, project management, project reporting, project close-out and record retention relating to grants and contracts. These activities include the responsibility for compliance oversight regarding Federal government regulations and other requirements relating to non-governmental projects. 


Responsibilities: 


· Supervision and administration of the financial documentation and financial performance of the funded projects

· Assistance with the development of proposal technical narratives, budgets, budget narratives and the submission of proposals to funding agencies

· Oversight and support of technical and financial reporting requirements for the funded projects

· Coordination and support of all audit and federal and tax forms, negotiation of contracts and develop subawards.

· Facilitation of opportunity pursuit teams

· Identification of new funding opportunities including the development of opportunity briefing documents

· Support/completion of the representations and certifications required by funding agencies

· Funded projects Terms and Conditions compliance

· Invoicing and/or drawdown for funded projects

· Financial management of the Foundation, working closely with the accounting and finance teams. 

· Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance or accounting 
  • Minimum of 5- 8 years of experience
  • Experience with project management
  • Knowledge of financial/accounting practices
  • Experience with NetSuite is required
  • Certified Grants Management Specialist certification from the National Grants Management Association (NGMA) is highly desirable
  • Federal grants management experience (NFP and Universities), and knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs) and the Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) preferred
  • Ability to navigate the System for Award Management (SAM)
