 POSITION OVERVIEW

The Imaging Services Technical Associate provides technical support to the Department of Imaging Services (IS). This includes training sites, ensuring high-quality image acquisition, assisting with receipt and QA of incoming imaging, resolution of technical discrepancies with site staff, and pre-reads and pre-analyses of imaging (where applicable). Additionally, the position will also assist with development and delivery of training materials and production and management of site-facing materials in support of the clinical trials business. The Imaging Services Technical Associate will liaise with staff from Technical Services, Client Services, Operations, and other consultants to produce comprehensive, technically sound work products.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use proprietary software to inspect incoming medical images that span many combinations of anatomy and imaging modalities 
  • Identify deviations from the prescribed image acquisition protocol (IAP) in incoming medical images
  • Document image quality and recommend corrective action 
  • Assist IS staff with scientific and technical consulting activities
  • Provide internal subject matter expertise related to image quality and acquisition methodology
  • Author imaging services documents such as IAPs and work instructions 
  • Conduct image analysis, as needed, and assist with implementing efficient workflow across the image-handling functions 
  • Document training activity and results of effectiveness testing
  • Develop site-, sponsor- and consultant-facing project materials (such as site training, guidance for site coordinators, imaging technologists, physician consultants, etc.)
  • Reinforce client relationships through high-quality work products, responsiveness and timeliness
  • Understand Medical Metrics Quality Policy and support the achievement of the organization’s quality objectives and take corrective action when necessary to mitigate organizational risk
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, as well as ISO 9001 and Current Good Clinical Practices (cGCP’s) relative to job tasks
  • Support internal initiatives aimed at quality improvement, suggest and implement relevant process improvements
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures
Requirements

  

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • ARRT registered technologist in at least one or more of the following modalities: Interventional Radiology, CT, or MRI; or a Bachelor’s degree in radiologic science, imaging, allied health or related discipline with “hands on” imaging experience in a clinical setting

PLUSES

  • Prior work experience or research in medical devices or biopharmaceuticals with an emphasis on spine, orthopedics, cardiology, and/or neurology
  • At least 1 year of post-baccalaureate experience in a technical role 
  • Understanding of clinical trials, including US-FDA 510(k) / PMA regulatory pathway 
  • Knowledge of routine assessments made from orthopedic and/or cardiovascular imaging exams
  • History of working with clinicians (e.g. radiologists, cardiologists, surgeons, neurologists) on R&D projects involving advanced image analysis and interpretation
  • Experience with working in an B2B environment
