*Shift will be determined by the needs of PPG customers, average work day for this position will be spent at the customer location*


Compensation: Hourly range from $27-$50/hour - This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.

Requirements

YOU HAVE:

  • Experience determining a vehicle’s condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts.
  • The Mobile Trailer Technician will be responsible for performing certified DOT inspections, Preventative Maintenance inspections, light repairs, and other duties as assigned such as aluminum and wall liners, trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps, and engines, liftgates, brake chambers, welding, fabrication, replacement of panels, body and framework
  • Perform minor adjustment and repairs on various types of trailers equipment and systems including, but not limited to the following: aluminum and chem-lite, trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps and engines, liftgates, and brake chambers
  • Preventive Maintenance and repairs on ThermoKing, Carrier and other refrigeration equipment, Preventive maintenance and repair, DOT inspections on medium and heavy duty Trucks, trailers out of Service Truck with little or no supervision
  • Troubleshoot and repair ABS system
  • Follow all safety requirements while onsite and at customer locations
  • Accurately complete work orders and other written materials according to established procedures
  • Properly document damage to company equipment to estimate cost of repairs Demonstrate proficient use of a cutting torch and welding equipment to perform mid-level repairs on chassis, frames, and other equipment
  • Patch holes in trailer or container side panels and roofs
  • The ability to take ownership of all aspects of customers' vehicle repair to provide best in-class service.
  • Operate dedicated Service Truck in a safe manner.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers/iPad/iPhone
  • Act with integrity, demonstrate honesty and keep commitments
  • The ability to engage customers in a professional manner to strengthen the customer relationship.

YOU MAY ALSO HAVE:

  • Positivity, adaptability, creativity, energy
  • Brake certification
  • ASE certifications
  • Diesel Engine Technical degree and/or training
  • Problem solving skills

EXPERIENCE:

  • Refrigeration: 2 years ( Or relatable HVAC experience)
  • Mechanical troubleshooting: 2 years (Or relatable troubleshooting experience)
