This is a full-time position working from one of the states in which we operate, including California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, Washington DC, and Washington state.


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Marketing Strategist is responsible for all senior-level strategic management of direct marketing fundraising programs with our nonprofit clients in collaboration with client account team members. They are a subject matter expert in planned giving and legacy marketing and serve as a trusted resource for clients, client teams and the agency.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client Service:

  • Lead day-to-day management and implementation of planned giving marketing strategies for multiple clients
  • Create cross-channel planned giving campaigns that reflect clients’ strategic and revenue needs; prepare, finalize, and present strategy documents; prepare and reconcile final reports
  • Work with client account teams to manage and implement planned giving campaigns across multiple channels, ensuring all stakeholders are consulted and kept informed on planned giving strategies and campaigns
  • Monitor, evaluate, and course correct, proactively adjusting for current results, industry changes, and other events
  • Offer guidance to account team members responsible for creative, print, and digital production

Analytics:

  • Prepare/interpret periodic reports that evaluate client direct marketing planned giving programs with recommendations for improvements and additional agency work
  • Work with client data teams and Analytics team to identify and create needed reports that allow for ongoing evaluation, course correction, and strategic insights
  • Identify priority audience segments for campaigns and ensure planned giving campaign audiences are periodically evaluated and updated in light of results as well as new industry research
  • Ensure timely reports to clients, including data/analysis reflected in campaign strategy and analysis

Agency:

  • Enhance the agency’s brand through networking and industry opportunities
  • Participate in new business proposals and presentations when requested
  • Assist Legacy Giving Vice President in identifying new planned giving opportunities with existing and potential clients
  • Keep up-to-speed on changes in the planned giving industry and practices
  • Lead as a trusted subject matter expert for the agency in the area of legacy and planned giving

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly operates a computer and other office equipment and remains in a stationary position, often sitting (or standing if at a standing desk) for prolonged periods; communication is via email, chat, phone, video, and/or in-person with others inside and outside the agency in order to exchange information; repetitive motions may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers in order to operate computer equipment, copy machines, and printers.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:

  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in one of the following areas of work: Nonprofit planned giving and legacy marketing
  • Knowledge base of planned giving concepts and marketing techniques
  • Multi-client experience and digital marketing experience strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

ABOUT COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • A starting salary range of between $80,000 - $100,000, with performance evaluations and review of salary at least annually
