Description
Overview
The Facility Security Officer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a security program that complies with the NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117) and other regulations, and partnering with cognizant security authorities, senior management, and personnel. The FSO provides support for all security actions in accordance with corporate and governmental policies and directives.
Work Location
Remote, with ability to attend in-person annual meetings or inspections when scheduled.
Responsibilities/What You’ll Be Doing
- In depth knowledge of government security regulations for the protection of sensitive and classified information ensuring compliance with our customers’ and their policies and procedures for protecting data and meeting contractual requirements.
- Act as an advisor to management on security issues and challenges.
- Supports personnel security clearance processes and ensures cleared personnel are provided clear, applicable, and effective training; initially and regularly thereafter.
- Provides security orientation to new employees including badging, clearance requirements, fingerprints, reporting requirements, terminations and debriefings.
- Initiate Background Investigations (BI’s) and CV Updates using current systems of record (i.e., DISS and NBIS), submit Fingerprints (Fieldprint and SWFT).
- Experience with multiple security databases such as DISS, NCAISS, NISS, NBIS, e-APP, STEPP and CDSE.
- Process visit requests, TASS Forms, System Access Requests
- Experience in assessing contracts, task orders (TOs) and DD 254’s for security implications and advising on the appropriateness, feasibility, impact or applicability of the requirements.
- Write SubK DD254s and track Prime and DD254s issued to company
- Review Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Statement of Work (SOW); provide guidance and inputs to assist in preparing proposal for classified contracts.
- Prepare and submits sponsorship documentation to the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) for facility clearances and joint ventures of subcontractors, when necessary.
- Prepare for and oversee reporting of all security incidents, violations, personnel reporting requirements, foreign travel.
- Primary POC for all communications with government clients and DCSA for Security Inspections, prepares for and supports government inspections, reviews and audits of security program and addresses any action items.
- Coordinate with AFSO and Project Managers for contract specific trainings, visits and reporting requirements.
- Prepare written or narrative reports of facility assessment findings and self-inspections for reporting of annual self-inspection certification to DCSA.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Five years of experience as an FSO
- Bachelor’s degree
- Completion of CDSE FSO Certification
- Working knowledge of CFR 32 Part 117 (National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), and associated industrial security regulations, policies and regulations.
- Experience with government systems (DISS, NCAISS, e-APP, NBIS, and SWFT databases).
- US Citizen
- Active TS clearance
