Description
- Set-up and run new jobs.
- Works from and in accordance with specifications and design criteria including but not limited to verbal instructions, drawings, and blueprints; performs standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, speeds, and feeds of machining.
- Edit program setting as related to tool feeds and speeds when necessary
- Adjust tool travel distance
- Uses a wide variety of precision measuring instruments; maintains accurate dimensional tolerances based upon drawings.
- Monitor machine operations
- Reworks and calibrates production parts or assemblies and machine tooling as required; checks each component for accuracy.
- Replace dull tools as necessary
- Set and sharpen tools as necessary
Requirements
- Experienced with set-up and program Hitachi Seiki Horiz Machine
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to set auxiliary machines (hand mills, Milwaukee Vertical and 6 to 8 spindle drill presses)
- Experience with various types of gauging
- Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions.
- Ability to perform the physical labor necessary.
