The Lutheran Center (national office) is located in Chicago, Illinois. A staff of 400, under the leadership of the Presiding Bishop, serve as administrators, advisors, conveners, partners, and resource people for the ELCA and its ministries. Staff lead the work of national, domestic, and global ministries and programs including Lutheran Disaster Response, ELCA World Hunger, Service & Justice, Christian Community and Leadership, and Innovation.  We are also home to five of our separately incorporated ministries: The Mission Investment Fund of the ELCA, Women of the ELCA, Lutheran Men in Mission, the ELCA Foundation and the ELCA Federal Credit Union.


About the ELCA Foundation


The ELCA Foundation, with over $1 billion in gifts and assets managed on behalf of the ELCA denomination, works with individuals, congregations, synods, the churchwide organization and related social ministry organizations to develop gifts and oversee the management of assets that will sustain and grow ministries of the ELCA. The Foundation is primarily responsible for working with individual donors to develop gift plans that support the current and future work of ELCA ministries; handling relationships with partner organizations; administering, managing, and processing endowment assets, charitable gift annuities, charitable trusts and donor advised funds; and providing pooled investment services to the related entities of the ELCA. 


About the position


The Systems/Applications Administrator is responsible for all aspects of application administration for assigned applications (especially but not limited to financial core system and complimentary systems/applications and databases). This includes: end user support; application health monitoring; ensures systems/applications data security; upgrades; performance monitoring; documenting known processes; creating new procedures and workflows; systems integrations; and configuration and customization. This person serves as the "go to" for users, promotes adoption, provides training, assists deployment of new systems/applications, assists disaster recovery and business continuity efforts (testing and compliance), and improvement of internal processes. The Administrator acts as a liaison between internal users (and sometimes external customers) and various system vendors and support parties.


This is a full-time, regular, exempt, remote position. 


Candidates for this remote position must reside within the fifty United States or the District of Columbia and be authorized to work lawfully in the United States. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.


Job Responsibilities:

  

1. Support and maintain configuration of business application systems, understand and advise on processes and usage of systems, manage and implement change requests, create/maintain system documentation and training, and provide end user support.

2. Assist with planning, design, and implementation of new business systems, and recommend solutions for improvements to the current business application systems, including but not limited to implementing automation tasks as needed.

3. Support integrations between business applications and enable best practices and process automation across business applications.

4. Manage upgrades to application systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and as required by security/compliance. This includes assistance with systems/applications disaster recovery efforts (testing and compliance).

5. Act as a liaison between all departments and facilitate the understanding, clarification and review of requirements and system configuration.

6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent and minimum 5 years of professional work experience in system/application administration.

2. 3 years of experience related to trust administration and/or investment management. Experience with Workday, ECIS, InvestorVision, and CRM products desired.

3. Demonstrated ability to be the subject matter expert in supporting, maintaining, and administering complex business applications.

4. Hands on experience I process automation, system integrations, best practice approach, technology efficiency, and effectiveness. Excellent problem solving/analytical skills and systemic process improvement skills.

5. Excellent ability to communicate (oral and written) with users, vendors, technology staff and various other constituencies on technical and business levels to build consensus and facilitate teamwork. Demonstrated soft skills required such as presentation of ideas and clearly articulate the concepts to senior management.

6. Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative relationships with different areas of this organization.

7. Advanced knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office products.

8. Project Management knowledge or experience desired.

Physical Effort 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone. Travel 

 Minimal travel; up to 5% - approximately 3 weeks

Salary Description
$81,785.60 - $122,657.60
