Description

Kern Regional Center is one of 21 private, non-profit regional centers contracted by the State of California through the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) to coordinate community-based services and support for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Kern Regional Center services over 10,000 individuals in Kern, Inyo and Mono Counties. Our counties cover approximately 22,000 square miles with a population of over 945,000 people. 


Kern Regional Center is looking for a dedicated Community Services Specialist – Fiscal Monitor who is ready for their next challenge. This individual will be responsible for conducting yearly audits, preparing yearly fiscal analysis, completing State Plan Amendment (SPA) billing and invoices, and assisting with Annual and Bi-Annual Audits. This position will track and assist with the Community Placement Plan (CPP) and or approved Deflection plans for the Sufficiency of Allocation Report (SOAR). This position will track and report on services in Kern Regional Center’s (KRC’s) catchment area (Kern, Inyo and Mono Counties). This position will ensure services provided to individuals that KRC supports are in compliance with Title XVII, the Lanterman Act, State and Federal Regulations, Agency Standards and best practices for community programs for individuals with developmental disabilities. A knowledge base of regulations, auditing, and accounting principles, practices and procedures is recommended.


Requirements

 The ideal candidate is someone who has: 

  • The following requirements generally demonstrate possession of the minimum requisite knowledge and ability necessary to perform the duties of the position.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field from an accredited school. Two years of accounting experience, with one year conducting audits or financial examinations; or
  • Completion of a professional accounting curriculum certificate program and three years accounting experience; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Possession of a valid California Driver’s License and State automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record substantiated by a DMV printout
  • Full use of automobile or ability to provide for independent transportation
  • Must be able to drive to various sites as assigned on a daily basis

Salary range for this position $24.12 to $34.00 per hour

Starting salary range $24.12 to $26.64 per hour
