Position Description
The Senior Process Engineer is expected to be able to function as the Lead Process Engineer on smaller projects and be responsible for all discipline technical and scheduling matters pertaining to the assigned project. He/she receives little supervision and in turn may provide technical guidance, as required, to lower classified personnel on assignments. Work is periodically reviewed by Chief Process Engineer for accomplishment of objectives.
Essential Functions
· Provide support for conceptual, FEED, and detail design of Upstream oil & gas projects, and support the development of PFDs, P&IDs, relief systems, heat and material balance, line sizing, etc.
· Perform process simulation and optimization of units and process trains using HYSYS or similar programs with minimal oversight.
· Perform hydraulic and flow assurance studies on a wide variety of gas and liquid products using simulation software (e.g. HYSYS, WinSim, Stoner, Pipeline Studio, etc.) with minimal oversight.
· Prepares or reviews discipline project specifications.
· Prepares or reviews requisitions for inquiry in support of purchasing equipment, materials, and subcontracts.
· Prepares technical bid evaluations for equipment, materials, bulk material and subcontracts in cooperation with Procurement Department.
· Observes factory acceptance testing of equipment in cooperation with the Lead Engineer.
· Performs engineering calculations as required by discipline.
· Prepares or reviews equipment, valve, piping line, and piping tie-in lists.
· Prepares or reviews piping and instrument diagrams, piping layouts and plot plans.
· Coordinates with and provides liaison with client personnel relative to process activities.
· Reviews and approves vendor documents.
· Accepts both short and extended term assignments to the site, client’s office, etc. as may be requested by the Chief Process Engineer.
Qualifications
· Typically 5 - 10 years of experience in engineering.
· Familiar with natural gas industry standards and codes.
· Knowledge of computer systems in an engineering environment.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Qatar Engineering license (MME/MMUP/UPDA) required
Education
· Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering
· Grade A Qatar Engineering license (MME/MMUP/UPDA) required
