Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing program staff, on-boarding and off-boarding all staff into HRIS system, ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential, and act as the main point of contact for employees’ queries on HR-related topics.
Program Operations
· Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with HR manager to understand skills and competencies required for openings
· Conducts and acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications
· Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
· Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form
Leadership
· Serve as a positive and guiding force that supports AYS’s mission, vision, and values.
· Attend and participate in regularly scheduled individual, team, organization, and project meetings/activities.
· Observe and monitor all processes and procedures, recommending adjustments/solutions to issues and obstacles.

· Communicates respectfully with all stakeholders to ensure situational understanding
Administrative
· Create and promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
· Review job applicants in applicant tracking system, complete phone screens and interview scheduling.
· Assists with maintaining employment records, filing systems, and other departmental records.
· Assist with recruitment sourcing and participation in job fairs.
· Assist with recruitment reports and metrics calculation.
· Prepare new hire files.
· Undertake tasks around performance management
· Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, such as time to hire and employee turnover rates
· Organize quarterly and annual employee performance reviews for all staff
· All other duties as assigned
Compliance and Training
· Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field is required.
- A minimum of three years of human resources or job-related experience is required.
- PHR or SPHR certification is preferred.
