Schedule: Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM


The Career Technical Training Manager plans, directs and supervises the operation of the Career Technical Training Department

  • Demonstrates and abides by the Company Core Values, company operating principles, Career Success Standards.
  • Plans, directs and supervises the activities of the Career Technical Training Department. Insures Job Corps-approved curriculum is being taught in individual classrooms. Supervises procurement and use of supplemental materials, including multi-media equipment and materials
  • Projects and plans for instructional needs. Insures proper teaching methods are being employed for the subject area being taught
  • Plans and administers departmental budget
  • Assesses personnel needs and works with the Deputy Director and Human Resources Department to screen and interview potential staff members. Approves promotions, transfers and merit evaluations within the department.
  • Conducts and prepares performance appraisals.
  • Prepares and submits reports as required. Insures proper records on students’ ETAR (Electronic Training Achievement Record) progress, performance, etc., are maintained by the instructors and proper record of students’ attendance is maintained by the Career Technical Training Department.
  • Formulates proposals and makes recommendations to the Career Development Director on all changes in policies and procedures pertaining to the Career Technical Training Department
  • Analyzes data from DOL statistical reports to ensure students are making timely progress and obtaining primary as well as secondary credentials in their training program.
  • Insure instructor’s credential/certifications remain current and that instructors obtain the credentials required for each trade.
  • Conduct interviews, group discussions, etc., to evaluate curriculum, teaching methods and community participation in trade and other programs.
  • Work closely with the Academic and Counseling Mangers to ensure students are scheduled to classes that will maximize their success in the program and meet DOL requirements.
  • Work closely with the Outreach, Admissions and Career Transition Manger to ensure students who are nearing program completion are scheduled for interviews and job placement services to meet program and DOL requirements.
  • Responsible for insuring departmental employment and affirmative action departmental objectives and goals are met
Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in work-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Holds any state and/or federal certifications required for the position. Experience in teaching which might include disadvantaged youth highly desirable.


Preferred: Master’s degree in work-related field, expansive experience with disadvantaged youth. Three years teaching in a supervisory capacity. Vocational Teaching certificate


Knowledge Required: Sound working knowledge of Career Technical Training programs, excellent communication skills, both oral and written, ability to inspire and motivate staff, ability to effectively relate to student population, must obtain and maintain a valid CPR/First Aid Certification

Salary Description
$66,560 - $76,000 Yearly
