Description

Mercy Home for Children a nonprofit agency providing comprehensive care to individuals with Intellectual & developmental disabilities is hiring a Training Coordinator to join the Mercy Home Corporate Compliance Department.   Under the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer the Training Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that Mercy Home’s workforce is equipped to perform their various duties per agency standards and OPWDD best practices. 


The Training Coordinator manages the organization’s training by conducting needs assessments and developing appropriate programs. This includes the preparation of aids/materials and conducting a variety of training programs. The Training Coordinator may contract with outside vendors to develop and conduct additional training programs as needed, including the coordination of employee participation in outside vendor training, when applicable. The coordinator will identify with and impart the Mission and Core Values of Mercy Home to all employees and represent the Quality Assurance Department and Agency by promoting and modeling the mission and core values of the Sisters of Mercy and Mercy Home.  

Requirements


  • Schedule and conduct New Staff Orientation, training, and workshops relevant to the Agency’s needs. 
  • Maintain and oversee the training data in the HRIS system in conjunction with the HR Department. 
  • Oversee implementation of workforce development initiatives, developing applicable training curricula. 
  • Assists with identifying outside training resources as needed. 
  • Assure the quality of training programs through observation, feedback, and train the trainer. 
  • Work collaboratively with the Directors and Managers, through ongoing communication and program site visits to identify and address staff training needs. 
  • Responsible for providing and/or coordinating initial and annual SCIP-R,  CPR training & Defensive Driver training. 
  • Develop and implement comprehensive training plans aligned with OPWDD regulations and best practices.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in training and development.
  • Participate in the staff meetings and committee meetings such as HRC and IRC.
  • May be required to assist with incident investigations.
  • Be available for agency events or community and fundraising events. 
  • Serve as the on-call administrator according to the Agency schedule. 
  • Completion of other tasks as requested by Supervisor.
  • Provide support and resources to staff regarding training-related inquiries.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Education, or related field.
  • Current Certification in SCIP, CPR, First Aid & Defensive Driving is required.
  • 2-4 years of experience in the field of working with developmental disabilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience developing & delivering online training programs for all level staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Relias, Therap & Excel.
  • Valid NYS Driver's license is required.
