Hoyle Tanner's Northeast Municipal Engineering Services Group (NEME) is seeking an experienced CADD Designer with advanced Revit capabilities to join our team in our Portsmouth or Manchester, New Hampshire, Burlington, Vermont, Yarmouth, Maine, or Chelmsford, Massachusetts office. You will play a pivotal role in an integrated, multi-disciplined civil engineering team that solves technical challenges on projects of significant scope, size, and difficulty. You will be responsible for detailed design drawings and assisting in the preparation of project documentation for civil-site and environmental projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to work as part of a collaborative team using industry-leading software from Microsoft, AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D and Revit. 


Primary duties include but are not limited to:

  • Complete tasks and deliverables accurately and on time with limited direction from other team members.
  • Develop, organize, and manage multiple 2D and 3D CADD files to prepare drawing sets for civil engineering projects.
  • Provide civil design and drafting support for site development, underground utilities, pump stations, wastewater treatment facilities, roadways, site grading, and stormwater infrastructure.
  • Create surfaces, alignments, profiles, and pipe networks in Civil 3D and detail civil engineering design .
  • Create and manage building information models (BIM) using AutoDesk Revit software.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team to model structures, pipe systems, ground surfaces and hardscapes to accurately represent interconnected wastewater facilities.
  • Understand and incorporate the requirements of the Engineering team and communicate/coordinate with the Civil Engineer, Structural Engineer, Mechanical and Controls Engineers and Architect to ensure that the BIM accurately reflects the design requirements.
  • Create and/or Modify Revit Families.
  • Manage and expand internal Revit resources.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and best practices in Revit and BIM.
  • Providing training and support to other team members on Revit software and BIM modeling techniques.
  • Maintain consistent standards and quality control for all drawings.
  • Develop an understanding of project budget, scope of services, project development, and provide updates and recommendations to the Project Manager in maintaining schedule and budget with respect to plan production.
  • Conduct and complete routine engineering support tasks under the supervision of but without requiring significant guidance from an Engineer.
  • Understand the client's organization, manuals, and electronic standards and share best practices to improve performance and efficiency of self and team.
  • Develop person-hour estimates and budgets with guidance from senior staff.
  • Assist in the development of graphics for proposal efforts and development. May develop or assist in visualizations and/or photo-simulations using graphics software and other applications.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to improve CADD efficiency and knowledge for Engineers, peers and others as needed.
  • Conduct site visits and participate in meetings with clients and contractors.
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • An Associate Degree or certification in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) or a related field.
  • Advanced Revit capabilities required as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Recent experience preparing plan sets for a civil engineering, structural engineering, mechanical engineering, or surveying company and a basic understanding of civil engineering and building science including; design elements such as grading, underground utilities, survey, and various building systems including concrete structures is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and convey project information.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • A collaborative and positive attitude to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new software tools and engineering standards.
  • 10 - 15 years of relevant experience required.
