You: You’re passionate about marketing, detail-oriented, and driven to be part of a fast-moving, creative team working to advance individual liberty. A related degree or early field experience introduced you to various marketing platforms, tools, and channels, and you're seeking an opportunity to sharpen your skills with collaborative, real-world application and opportunity for growth. You are familiar with building, optimizing and reporting on Meta and GDN campaigns, understand SEO best practices, are comfortable working in WordPress, have some experience working in CRMs like Active Campaign or Pardot, and understand comprehensive inbound and outbound marketing strategy.
Them: Bureaucrats, city councils, mayors, governors, and federal agencies stripping Americans of their rights every day. There’s a lot of government overreach out there, and it’s backed by seemingly endless resources. But fortunately, like all lumbering giants, abusive government is most vulnerable when countered by individuals who act strategically and nimbly, take calculated risks, have each other’s backs, and are confident in, and passionate for, the cause—the very sort of swashbucklers we employ in spades here at PLF.
Us: We fight back. Pacific Legal Foundation is the nation’s first and most successful public interest law firm dedicated to vindicating individual liberty. PLF has an unmatched record in the U.S. Supreme Court, with 18 out of 20 cases won at the Court. We also have more than a hundred active cases across the nation.
We are a next-generation public interest law firm. What does “next-generation” mean for a legal nonprofit? It means we aren’t interested in doing the same thing as everyone else. We aspire to be the best player in a constantly changing game.
Here’s what you get to do in this role:
You’ll collaborate across the communication team on strategy, messaging, and campaign execution across various platforms, leveraging your growing understanding of digital marketing to help PLF reach and connect with our target audiences.
You’ll become the organization’s go-to person for managing and publishing website content, including high-stakes webpages about new PLF lawsuits, as well as creating emails and other communications assets.
You’ll learn to use industry-leading technology, including Pardot, Salesforce, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
Getting down to brass tacks, your specific job duties likely will include:
- Building, testing and launching campaigns in Pardot/Salesforce; including using the drag and drop builder to create various emails and landing pages from provided content,
- Publishing, testing, and launching provided web content using WordPress custom post types
- Updating web content to ensure our visitors always have access to the newest information
- Optimizing content for search engines and identifying new opportunities to capture search audiences
- Measuring results to fuel new ideas and make data-informed recommendations
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- A passion for marketing.
- Some practice experience or a relevant degree field (communications, marketing, etc.).
- Entry-level experience using WordPress or another CMS system.
- Entry-level experience using an email marketing program.
- Patience for juggling competing priorities.
- Knowledge of Google Analytics, Pardot, and/or Adobe software is a plus.
- A big appetite for growth.
