Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Head Bowling Coach to launch Greenville University's Men's and Women's Bowling Program. the Head Coach will be responsible for developing and implementing training programs, providing guidance and support to team members, and ensuring that the team is prepared for competitions.


This is a full-time position. This includes but is not limited to: recruitment, athlete development, program administration, and embraces the institutional mission of a Christian liberal Arts institution. The coach will work closely with student-athletes to foster a positive and competitive team culture while promoting academic success, personal growth and faith integration. Reporting to the Director of Athletics and/or assigned sport administrator, the head coach will be a critical part of the total athletic program.


  

Recruitment and Retention: Recruit student athletes that acknowledge our Christian perspective, desire an academic degree and want to be a part of building a bowling program from scratch. We are targeting a roster approximately of 40 students’ men and women combined. Develop a strategic and well-thought-out recruitment and retention program. Ensure the assemblance of a full and competitive competition roster. Visit high school, professional and community organizations. Hire, develop, supervise high-caliber assistant coaches. Develop strong recruiting pipelines with high schools and junior college programs. Implement an annual evaluation and assessment of the recruiting/retention program.
 

Athlete Development: Design effective training/practice sessions, provide individualized feedback, and foster a supportive team environment.

Program Administration: Manage the program budget, coordinate fundraising, handle team travel, and collaborate on marketing and community engagement. Effectively work with our local bowling facility and their management/ownership team. 

Student-Athlete Support: Mentor and support student-athletes in their academic, athletic, and personal spiritual growth, and promote sportsmanship and integrity.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or related field

-  Experience as a Bowling Coach

- Strong knowledge of bowling techniques and strategies

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to motivate and inspire team members

- Strong organizational and time management skills

- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
