Description

  

· Maintaining steady contact with the client throughout the year, which involves a thorough knowledge of the client including all 

       facets of the client’s business rather than mere routine attendance to immediate problems

· Experience in the following affordable housing areas:  HUD insured mortgages, Section 8 rental assist. programs, Rural 

       Development programs, Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Bond finance affordable housing and cost certification exper.

- Reviewing the engagement prior to the review by partner, answering any questions the client may have, and ensuring that there’s 

       a complete understanding of the nature and terms of the engagement

· Consistently demonstrating the ability to identify and properly account for technical issues/areas in each engagement assigned.

· Knowing the client’s impression in regard to the conduct of the engagement

· Expanding expertise in their assigned areas 

· Keeping the partners informed of all important developments in the work, analyzing the major problems that occur and/or 

       potential problems and recommending solutions 

· Dealing directly with the client’s attorneys or brokers

· Communicating assurance and accounting developments to the firm

· Managing an engagement in relation to budgeted time and scheduled dates of completion

· Following the progress of work, during an engagement, in relation to budgeted time and scheduled dates of completion; spending

        as much time as possible with the client’s management group.

· Following the report through processing, answering any questions that arise and supervising distribution according to the client’s 

       instructions

· Preparing bills for clients for review by Practice Area Leader (PAL) in a timely and efficient manner

· Promoting the most efficient operation of the firm by scheduling engagements and managing professional personnel

· Participating in firm administrative functions/projects as assigned by partners/principals

· Beginning to understand the firm’s philosophy; aligning with philosophies and views held by the partners

· Meeting with prospective clients and assisting with preparation of proposals

· Recognize opportunities to provide additional services (cross-selling) to clients

· Supervising staff, seniors, and supervisors and evaluating their performance and providing them with feedback in regard to the 

       evaluations

Requirements

  

- Must be CPA certified

- Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree in accounting

- 5-7 years’ experience in public accounting with heavy affordable housing industry experience

- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience as a Supervisor (or equivalent experience as deemed appropriate by the partners/principals)

- Membership in AICPA as applicable

- Proficiency in use of computers, accounting software programs and assurance software programs

- Completion of career development CPE requirements designed to enhance management and communication skills 

- Excellent time management and organizational skills

- Displays initiative, creativity and imagination

- Valid driver’s license and good Motor Vehicle Record
