Position Summary: The Panther P.A.T.H. Peer Mentor will serve as a role model and provide essential support to students participating in the Panther P.A.T.H. This role includes offering academic guidance, and emotional support, and connecting students with campus resources to promote their success and holistic development.
Key Responsibilities:
Mentorship and Support:
- Serve as a positive role model for P.A.T.H. students.
- Provide personalized support to students, ensuring attention to their individual needs.
- Meet with assigned mentees regularly to offer guidance, share experiences, and discuss strategies for success and personal development.
- Check-in with mentees regularly to offer academic guidance and assist in connecting them with essential campus resources.
- Provide emotional support, fostering a nurturing and empowering environment for students.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other peer mentors and the program director to ensure coordinated support for all P.A.T.H. students.
- Participate in program activities and training sessions as required.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of mentee interactions and progress.
- Report regularly to the program director.
- Assist in planning and facilitating workshops and other program events.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Must be a GU Student enrolled in 6+ credit hours
- Preference will be given to those who have completed the Panther P.A.T.H. program.
- Demonstrated academic success and a strong understanding of campus resources.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Commitment to the holistic development of students.
