Job Summary: Assists the dentist in the operation of the dental clinic.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Must create and sustain positive working relationships with co-workers.
- Adheres to all PRH and CSD policies and procedures, and the Center Operating Procedures.
- Assists dentist in providing services and promotes oral health and wellness education.
- Prepares dental instruments.
- Develops and mounts X-rays.
- Performs Dental Readiness Exams.
- Makes dental appointments.
- Maintains oral health supplies and equipment.
- Maintain student confidentiality and abide by HIPAA regulations.
- Attends staff training sessions as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum: Certified Dental Assistant Certification if state requirement. X-ray certification. High school graduate or equivalent. Minimum of one-year dental training.
Preferred: Minimum and six months’ work-related experience.
Knowledge: Sound dental assistant techniques. Excellent record-keeping skills and computer literacy. Good organizational skills. Ability to effectively relate to students. Must maintain CPR/First Aid certification.
