Student Writing Center Tutor - Student Employment
Campus Employment
Description

Tutors will work with students in Writing Center on improving general writing skills, organization, and grammar/mechanics/style. Tutors will also be required to attend training sessions with the Writing Center Director.
 

In addition to an application submitted via the Campus Employment system, students should forward a writing sample (a sample paper from a college course) and a brief (1 page) letter outlining their interest in the position and their qualifications (see preferred skills) to Brittany.carlson@westminster-mo.edu.

Requirements:

Reliable: you must commit to 2 shifts a week at the beginning of the semester and stick with those times. Excellent writing skills: "B" or better in Academic Writing strongly preferred Excellent social and communication skills: you must be comfortable working with your peers. At least sophomore status at the beginning of the fall semester, and concurrent enrollment or prior completion of the first level of the tutor training classes (LST 180).
