Co-Op / Intern Manufacturing Engineer

Fulton Group N.A. is a multinational boiler manufacturer with a variety of market leading products. The company is located in Pulaski, NY which is a short commute from Syracuse, just 30min from the 481-81 interchange.


The Co-op program at Fulton is a great opportunity for students to work with a multidisciplinary team and gain experience. Fulton touches many aspects of engineering, from combustion technology to electrical systems to heat transfer to turbomachinery.


Manufacturing Engineer Co-op: This role will assist the Manufacturing Engineering team in various tasks related to product design of jigs and fixtures, subcomponent updates and documentation time studies. This role provides a hands-on experience in engineering practices and exposure to real-works manufacturing challenges. 


ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Design and Documentation: Generate detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
  • Mechanical Insight: Evaluate designs with a focus on mechanical functionality and manufacturability.
  • Close coordination with shop floor personnel as product and process changes are formulated and implemented.
  • Design jigs and fixtures for repeatable and efficient build practices
  • Create engineering tools with iLogic and other design automation techniques.
Requirements

 QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Certifications and Required Experience):

  • Fulltime enrollment in a B.S. or M.S. engineering program, with 2 years completed.
  • Experience with 3D modeling programs such as Autodesk Inventor
  • Ability to work fulltime hours during the co-op program
  • Strong communication, organizational and independent judgment skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Unafraid to use unorthodox methods.
  • Demonstrates critical analysis, a mechanical mindset, and an enthusiasm for exceptional design
  • Ability to work as a part of a team

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The worker is primarily sedentary and involves mostly sitting. Walking and standing are required occasionally.

Salary Description
$20 - $23 / hour
