Western National Mutual Insurance Company is seeking to expand its Premium Billing team by adding a Billing Intern. The Billing Intern will provide support to a variety of projects and initiatives, while playing a key role in our day-to-day operations.

Western National Intern Program Summary:

Western National provides a robust internship program designed for individuals aiming to acquire valuable experience in the insurance industry. This program not only offers practical, hands-on opportunities and project work in partnership with our premium billing team; but interns will also have the opportunity to enhance their existing skill sets through a range of professional development activities, cultivate relationships with employees and fellow interns, and participate in impactful volunteer initiatives within the community.


Position Summary:

As a Premium Billing Intern in our internship program, you will be a key member of our billing team. Possible tasks that you will assist with include:

  • Process payments received from policyholders and agents
  • Research and correct payment application errors
  • Daily reconciliation of account receivable receipts with bank deposit for various payment types
  • Assist in documenting procedures
  • Manage collection process to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances
Requirements

  

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Demonstrates understanding of the accounts receivable process.
  • Accurate and strong attention to detail
  • Good organizational, time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality
  • Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to use good judgment and to be flexible
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work onsite at our corporate office in Edina, MN.

Compensation Overview:

The base pay offered for this position will be $20.00/hour.
