Position Summary:

WCAC has contracts with the Department of Energy (DOE) and the major local utility companies to install energy conservation measures in eligible homes. The Home Energy Advisors at WCAC provide expert Energy Efficiency consultation and project management for 1-4 unit income eligible households in our service territory. They will evaluate properties and provide energy savings opportunities to participants. The scope of work includes the evaluation, coordination, and quality completion of the Energy Efficiency Improvements including, Weatherization, Appliance Replacements, Heating System upgrades including Air Source Heat pumps.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or HiSet equivalent required. 
  • Experience in building science or trades, preferably 1-2 years in the energy conservation, construction, or HVAC fields
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn software and databases used by WCAC.
  • Self-directed, ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and reasoning skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse individuals, families, co-workers, and community partners.
  • Customer service oriented; strong interpersonal and communication skills with a positive outlook and empathetic style.
  • Embraces and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Ability to speak Spanish or other languages, a plus.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to successfully complete a National Grid’s background check process, including drug screen. (4 panel, no THC)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. This position requires daily travel and will be reimbursed for mileage.
  • Required trainings and certifications may vary over time.*Successful candidate must attain all required certifications within 18 months of hire.
