Senior Electrical Engineer
Description

 Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week

Compensation: $90,000-$140,000, based on experience. 


 The Senior Electrical Engineer provides leadership and direct engineering support to product development projects. This includes engineering and design of hardware, software, and firmware as appropriate to meet subsystem and total system requirements. In this position, you will work collaboratively with all engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical, optical, metrology, and software) for successful product commercialization. You will be engaged in strategic decision making for the adoption of new technologies, methodologies, and tools to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.


Job Responsibilities: 

1.2.1 Designs and supports major electrical systems and subsystems for new and existing products.

1.2.2 Enhances existing electrical subsystems to reduce cost, improve performance, and provide additional options/features.

1.2.3 Creates design documentation for all phases of the development cycle including manufacturing test requirements, product verification, validation and release to production.

1.2.4 Provides technical direction and mentoring to junior engineers and manufacturing personnel.

1.2.5 Lead and manage new projects, technical risk management, and problem-solving activities.

1.2.6 Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers to ensure successful project outcomes.

Requirements

1.1 Education and Experience:

1.1.1 Minimum BSEE Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

1.1.2 8+ years of experience with proven results in the design and development of electrical systems and subsystems related to motion, machine vision and illumination.

1.1.3 Proven results in cross-functional team environments as a team participant or team leader.

1.1.4 Excellent verbal and written communication skills at various technical levels.

1.1.5 Ability to adapt to evolving design requirements.

1.2 Knowledge and Skills: 

1.2.1 Analog and digital circuit design, including simulation and performance analysis.

1.2.2 PCB design including schematic, layout, and firmware development. Experience with Altium Designer a plus. 

1.2.3 Understanding of signal integrity, cross talk, and EMI mitigation.

1.2.4 FPGA Hardware and programming.

1.2.5 Microcontroller hardware and software skills.

1.2.6 Functional knowledge of electrical and quality control standards (CE, NFPA, ISO, IPC)

1.2.7 Servo system design and system tuning experience a plus. 


Physical and/or Environmental Requirements: 

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time (8-hour shift) in an office setting, utilizing standard office equipment (computer, keyboard, computer mouse, phone, etc.)
  • Ability to occasionally move about and navigate through the workplace.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry objects of 10-15 pounds.
