Description
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- One year of RT experience preferred
- Education as required by current state laws and ordinances
- California State License & National License
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy
Responsibilities:
- Verify and deliver a prescribed and planned course of radiation therapy to patients using various treatment modalities obtain patient history, answer patient questions, and explain procedure; observe patient for any unusual reactions or events during treatment and record all information accurately.
- Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
- Position patient for treatment and document simulation parameters
- Schedules patients for treatments; interfaces with physicist at initiation of treatment; consults with supportive care physicians, nurses, and other staff as needed.
- Ensure billing procedures
- Perform and document daily Quality Assurance
- Perform simulations
- Provide emotional support to patients when necessary
- Maintains appropriate licensing and certification
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
