Reporting to: Vice President of Business Development and Industry Alliances  

JOB SUMMARY:

The Key Account Specialist manages Key accounts and develops strategic relationships with key clients to ensure their satisfaction and retention. This role involves understanding clients’ needs, providing tailored solutions, and liaising between the clients and internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery. The Key Account Specialist plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and achieving company objectives by maximizing the potential of Key Accounts. 

CORE POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Customer Relationship Management – Existing Key Accounts

  • Support the development and implementation of customer retention strategies by assisting Executive Management Sales with implementing the Key Account Management Program (KAM)
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and gather feedback to improve customer retention rates.
  • Assist in managing Key Accounts and Key Account Strategies, including renewals, invoicing, etc. 
  • Support sales presentations by assembling quotations, proposals, videos, slide shows, demonstration, and product capability booklets; compiling account and competitor analyses. 
  • Ensuring coordination of all assigned Key Accounts related communications and activities, including meetings and conference calls 
  • Face to Face meetings with Key Accounts as defined by the Key Account Management Program 
  • Assist in developing strategic plans for assigned Key Accounts
  • Assist in the coordination of TAB-related activities to assigned Key Accounts
  • Assist sales lead in meeting Key Account objectives and quotas
  • Assist sales lead to identify upsell opportunities to Key Accounts 
  • Ensure proficiency in strategic selling milestones and discovery checklist 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Customer Relationship Management – New Key Accounts

  • Support the development and implementation of new customer acquisition strategies by assisting Executive Management Sales with implementing the Key Account Management Program (KAM) 
  • Support sales presentations by assembling quotations, proposals, videos, slide shows, demonstration, and product capability booklets; compiling account and competitor analyses.
  • Ensuring coordination of all assigned Key Accounts related communications and activities, including meetings and conference calls 

SKILLS:

  • Ensure proficiency in strategic selling methodology and SalesForce completion for new opportunities
  • Ensure proficiency with market product technology, applications and systems configuration.  

COMPETENCIES:

  • High degree of initiative and self-motivation 
  • Self-managed with a high degree of creativity and analytical ability 
  • Strong priority management and time management skills with the ability to recalibrate quickly according to changing conditions 
  • Develop a thorough understanding of water metrology
  • Become familiar with AWWA Standards and M6 manual
  • Expertise in water meter testing
  • Understand the strategic selling philosophy and terminology 

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent required
  • 3+ years of successful track record in sales, sales and account management
  • 2-5 years of technical experience in related applications
  • Experience in water industry is a plus 
  • Proficient in the MS Office, Salesforce, and Asana  
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and any other endorsements necessary to legally operate vehicles used while assigned to this position

Work environment:

Work involves frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions, occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), possible exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Due to high degree of travel, other work environments not classified above may also be encountered.  

Essential Physical Activities:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to stand, walk, and/or sit. Use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, climb, balance, pull and/or lift heavy objects, talk or hear; see up close, see far away, and be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Travel required: 

Yes. Extensive travel required.

Additional eligibility requirements:

  • May be required to work overtime or alternative schedules based on project assignments.
  • Must be able to operate a computer and associated software programs.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language.
