Salary Information: Annual Minimum Salary-$91,700- Annual Maximum Salary-$154,000 For Full-Time status (For 8 hours/week=annual minimum salary-$18,341.44-annual maximum salary-$30,800.64)

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Pro-rated based on hours/week.


Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) was founded as a 501(c) (3) non-profit medical institution in 2005 aimed at increasing access to health care in medically underserved areas of the Pacific Northwest.


The University currently offers the degrees of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Master of Arts in Medical Science, and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy enrolling over 550 students annually with plans to develop other programs and/or colleges. Interprofessional education partnerships with other universities adds another 100 students to the population. The campus includes 300 employees with academic programming spread over a five state region.

General Summary:

The Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences seeks an Associated faculty in the School of Occupational Therapy to function as the lead instructor for the Primary Care Integrated Clinical Education Experience (ICEE) as part of the Master’s in Science of Occupational Therapy (MSOT) curriculum. Associated faculty are members of the faculty, with responsibilities that are focused on instruction. Associated faculty are hired as part-time faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor. The faculty member will be primarily responsible for providing occupational therapy services in the primary care setting and evaluating MSOT student performance during ICEE experiences and clinical rotations in the setting. Other activities may include planning, coordinating, and grading.


Essential Job Functions:

PNWU-SOT expects faculty at all times to observe those policies and practices which are considered standard professional responsibilities. These include, but are not confined to:

  

Scholarship of Teaching

  • Developing and administering student assessments as appropriate
  • Enhancing expertise in teaching content areas through continuing education, contemporary occupational therapy practice, and using current literature in teaching content
  • Participating in ongoing curriculum and program assessment
  • Having an appropriate number of office hours for student advising and submitting final reports of student performance at the designated time
  • Maintaining licensure and certification as appropriate

Service

· Participating faculty member in the School of Occupational Therapy through attendance of program events and student advising.

University-wide Essential Functions

· Understands accreditation standards and expectations specific to the department and adheres to policies and procedures to meet or exceed such standards

· Conducts self appropriately and consistently in accordance with the philosophy and mission of PNWU

· Other duties as assigned (perform and report on any other reassigned duties for the program

Requirements

Education:

• Required: Licensed or eligible for OT licensure in Washington State and a minimum of 3 years of practice; Prior experience working with older adult populations. Mentorship specific to working in the primary care setting will be provided.

• Preferred: Previous practice experience working in outpatient or community-based settings


Experience:

• Preferred: Prior experience in working with rural and underserved populations
