Substitute CTT Instructor (TX Professional Certification)
Description

Position Summary

The Substitute CTT Instructor provides tailored career technical training instruction in the area of specialty to facilitate completion of the maintenance,  electrical, and welding student program and credential attainment as needed.


Essential Functions

  1. Follow established lessons plans in accordance with Job Corps training achievement records (TARs) and use a variety of instructional methods to support student learning and development of employability skills.
  2. Ensure documented accommodations are provided to students as needed in collaboration with the Disability Coordinator.
  3. Maintain discipline and manage the learning environment to ensure quality and safety conducive to instruction and learning.
  4. Maintain strict accountability of students during the training day, take attendance each class period, and assist students to report to the appropriate class when needed.
  5. Support the Zero Tolerance policy and center Behavior Management Plan to promote a safe environment and report incidents to center leadership as needed.
  6. May utilize GSA vehicles to transport students to off-site learning and employment opportunities, appointments, and as needed for retrievals and other center-related needs.
  7. Maintain accountability of staff, students, and property and adhere to safety practices.
  8. Promote a harassment-free environment.
  9. Utilize information systems and handle student data in strict adherence to Job Corps and Strategix policies to protect student’s personally identifiable information (PII) and reduce network security threats.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum

Post-secondary degree or certification, ability to instruct in the basic principles of the relevant subject area, and two years of trade instruction, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills. Information technology proficiency including MS Office. Unless waived by management, a valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record is required.


Preferred

Degree or certification in the area of instruction and three years of instructional experience.
