The GIS Implementation Specialist  is a key member of our CartoPac team, based in Fort Collins, Colorado. This position performs a variety of critical functions including platform configuration, work process and system architecture analysis and design, database design, internal and external training, platform extensions.

What you can offer us:


Delivery of CartoPac Platform Configuration. Using our CartoPac platform toolset, you will, for example, configure and implement map-based customer web portals to explore and access data.

Work with customer IT and GIS departments to:

          o Set up development and test environments.

          o Configure user access through ArcGIS Portal and CartoPac Enterprise access requirements

Lead or assist in design sessions with our customers to: 

          o Define and document solution requirements.

          o Discover and document user stories.

Document logical and physical IT network, security, and application environments.

Using the CartoPac API’s, C#, IIS, Python, Esri REST, ArcGIS Server/Portal and ArcPy, extend the platform to:

          o Interface with external systems.

          o Create custom reports using standard reporting technologies (SSRS, etc.).

          o Develop other custom functionality as required by our customers.

Use FME to:

          o Perform data transformation, integration, and automation tasks.

          o Implement and maintain FME workflows to support complex data processing and integration needs with our CartoPac    

             platform toolset.

          o Serve as the FME subject matter expert within the CartoPac Operations Team.

Provide onsite and web-based training to customers on CartoPac software, GPS and field data collection in Train the Trainer, Field Training, and back-office solution administration training.

Create written and video content to support training programs and user conferences

Requirements

  What you need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Geography, GIS, Information Systems, Computer Science, or similar technical discipline.
  • Four or more (4+) years of GIS professional experience with increasing responsibilities.
  • Two or more (2+) years of experience in a customer-facing role, building and implementing enterprise-level software solutions.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 15 – 25% for onsite customer working sessions, customer trainings, and other project needs.
  • Intermediary skill in the use of GIS software, particularly the Esri ArcGIS platform including ArcPro.
  • Intermediary skill in the use of FME (Feature Manipulation Engine) for data integration and transformation.
  • Solid understanding of spatial and non-spatial relational databases and Structured Query Language (SQL) such as: SQL Server, Oracle, Esri SDE, and PostGreSQL.
  • Understand and apply spatial data concepts such as GNSS, spatial data models (UPDM, PODS), projections and datums.
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator. Candid, clear, and concise communication style.
  • Ability to present complex concepts to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Technical writing skills to document solution design, training materials, and user operating procedures.Business analyst skills; workflow analysis, design, writing technical documentation, and delivering customer trainings.
