Pay Rate: The pay range for this role is generally $41,600-46,600 annually commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. Community Health Action of Staten Island (CHASI) drives dramatic improvements in the health of New Yorkers by feeding people who are hungry, healing families broken apart by violence, and bridging the gaps between people and the compassionate health care they deserve. POSITION SUMMARY:
CHASI provides a wide range of Harm Reduction-based substance use disorder interventions to reduce the harm of substance use, particularly opioid use, and improve client health outcomes. The Behavioral Health Data & Quality Specialist collects, reviews, and enters data for the Behavioral Health Department, including, but not limited to, medicated assisted treatment, Narcan, and Syringe Exchange Programs. Quality Assurance will be conducted on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. The Data and Quality Specialist will develop forms to assist with effective data collection and ensure compliance with required reporting for the agency contracts within the Behavioral Health Department. In addition to data-related responsibilities, the Data & Quality Specialist will also serve as administrative supervisor for the Harm Reduction program’s stipend peer outreach workers.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct final review of services rendered and documented by Behavioral Health staff.
- Input and oversee data entry into the various systems utilized by different contract managers, including but not limited to AIRS, ESHARE, Treat, Channels, and WITS, and SPARS.
- Become familiar with the various contracts for Harm Reduction and Next Step Resource & Recovery Center programs and understand the deliverables required by each funder.
- Conduct ongoing Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement activities and ensure that engagement methods are impactful and yield desired outcomes.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for quality and thoroughness to ensure CHASI meets contract requirements.
- Analyze program performance through the data system used for entry to ensure deliverables are met.
- Extract data from multiple systems and ensure the data entry into funder databases.
- Maintain direct, frequent, and effective communication with program leadership and Associate Vice President of Data and Compliance.
- Support staff to complete necessary paperwork required for CHASI’s Harm Reduction program. This will include collection of completed paperwork, checking for accuracy and completeness, and submission of all data and paperwork as expected.
- Attend and participate in staff development training as required. Participate actively in regularly scheduled individual and group supervisory meetings.
- Perform all functions in alignment with CHASI’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
- Additional administrative and data collection duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 3 years of experience in data entry and/or non-profit program management; a related college degree may be considered as a supplement to up to 2 years of experience.
- Experience in providing quality assurance oversight of data.
- Knowledge of substance use intervention documentation and program activity. Understanding of harm reduction practices, philosophy, and interventions.
- Possesses analytical skills to collect, organize, monitor and present data in a clear and concise manner.
- Effective oral and written communicator - able to listen, clearly explain information, and engage in collaborative coaching discussions. Able to effectively present information to staff and management.
- Ability to work harmoniously with colleagues and foster a positive professional environment.
- Ability to establish priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Flexible with regularly changing demands and modified assignments.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Computer competent in and knowledgeable of web-based applications and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of AWARDS/Foothold a strong plus.
- Competence to work effectively and respectfully with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrates strong organizational & problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
