DOXA Pathways Internship Focus Areas
Focus Area: Accounting
Overview: You will assist with various accounting tasks, including data entry, invoice processing, account reconciliation, and financial reporting. You will work closely with others on the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
Focus Area: Marketing- Social Media
Overview: You will assist in developing and implementing our brand social media strategy to enhance our online presence and engage with our target audience. This internship offers hands-on experience in managing social media platforms, creating brand focused content, using productivity and creative tools, and analyzing content performance metrics.
Focus Area: Marketing- Marketing Events
Overview: You will assist in coordinating the attendance of DOXA’s 20 businesses at trade shows and industry events. Duties include organizing multiple business unit staff members to attend events, manage event related projects, create event communication strategies, and utilize travel and event planning skills.
Focus Area: Product and Business Development
Overview: You will assist in sourcing underwriting talent by leveraging sourcing platforms including LinkedIn, researching industry trends, analyze and monitor competitors’ product lines and launches, and manage the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database. You will monitor activities of Managing General Agents (MGAs) and programs in other markets, collaborate with marketing to develop content aimed at engaging potential underwriting talent, and work closely with the Mergers & Acquisitions team to explore new growth segments for DOXA.
Focus Area: Sales
Overview: You will gain hands-on experience and exposure to the fast-paced world of sales. You will work closely with our sales team, assisting in various stages of the sales process. This includes lead generation, prospecting, and client outreach. Your role will involve supporting the sales team with research, data entry, and customer relationship management (CRM) tasks, as well as helping to prepare sales presentations and reports and provide insight and analysis to support achieving sales targets and goals.
Focus Area: Underwriting
Overview: You will be responsible for analyzing various insurance applications, learning how DOXA determines risk and risk tolerance, learning how to set pricing, and assisting in drafting and finalizing policy contracts. Your daily responsibilities will encompass validating the accuracy of application data, conducting comprehensive risk analysis, and collaborating with our underwriting and sales team to create effective insurance policies.
Focus Area: Data
Overview: You will work on real-time projects in our Informatics or IT Department, applying SQL and programming skills to data pipelines and analytics. Responsibilities include conducting data analysis, brainstorming solutions, and contributing to all phases of the analytics lifecycle—from research and data collection to model building and presenting results. You’ll also help improve products and services, using data to find opportunities for enhancing customer experience and profitability. Additionally, you'll provide ad hoc analysis, assist with special projects, and prepare timely reports based on your findings.
Work Hours & Benefits:
- Time Period: 12 weeks, May-August 2025
- Hours: Monday-Friday, Full Time 40 hours, Temporary Status. Specific hours will be subject to departmental needs.
- Location: Hybrid, with 3-4 days in-office at DOXA Headquarters in Fort Wayne, IN.
- Pay: $20.00 an hour
- Holidays: July 4th, closed and paid
Intern Qualifications / Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED, and 18+ years of age.
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant academic program.
- Strong desire to learn and develop new skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar tools.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- In Junior or Senior year of college graduate program
