Electrical Production Worker Role

The Electrical Production Worker assembles electrical or electronic systems or support structures and installs components, units, sub-assemblies, wiring, or assembly casings, using rivets, bolts, soldering or micro-welding equipment. This position will report to the Production Supervisor and is located in Niles, Illinois.


Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Fabricate electrical sub-assemblies per detailed instructions
  • Wire custom control panels per detailed schematics
  • Hard wire equipment per drawings
  • Inspect or test wiring installations, assemblies, or circuits for resistance factors or for operation and record results
  • Adjust, repair, or replace electrical component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications
  • Clean parts, using cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths
  • Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine materials requirements or assembly instructions
  • Continually improve processes to ensure safe, efficient, and quality driven practices are in place
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment through a continued program of daily sweeping and general cleaning
Requirements

  

Qualifications and Work Experience 

  • High School Diploma or GED and/or ten (10) + years of direct work experience without formal education
  • Position typically expects three (3) to five (5) years of direct/relevant experience based on scope of the position
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Willing and able to work overtime as required
  • Possess problem solving capabilities
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask
  • Maintain composure in a fast-paced, stressful environment
  • Mission focused with a sense of urgency when required
  • Must have a positive attitude and foster a continuous improvement environment

Physical and Mental Requirements 


You will be expected to occasionally (1% to 20% of the time):

· Lift objects from one level to another (50 lbs. or less)

· Carry objects (30 lbs. or less)

· Sit in a normal seated position

· Climb stairs, ramps, ladders, etc.


You will be expected to frequently (21% to 50% of the time):

· Walk around the facility on foot

· Stoop/crouch by bending your legs or bending down/forward at the waist

· Reach by extending the hands/arms

· Add, subtract, multiply, divide and record, balance, and check results for accuracy


You will be expected to constantly (at least 51% of the time):

· Stand on your feet

· Understand, remember, apply, and communicate oral and/or written instructions or information

· Understand and follow basic instructions

· Organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology

· Apply common sense
