The CNC Process Engineer is responsible for the development of workflow plans to optimize the utilization of the available resources in the Chemring Machine Shop.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Determine manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling and materials; conferring with equipment vendors, soliciting observations from operators.
2. Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
3. Oversee projects from start to finish including part routings to determine the order of operations, and cycle time estimates of required machines.
4. Determine proper equipment and fixtures as needed for production.
5. Creates CAD drawings for each operation in the machining process.
6. Provides continuous improvement ideas as related to cost savings and safety.
7. Contribute to team effort to accomplish related goals as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS)
1. Required - Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering or related field
2. Must be eligible to pass a drug screen, background check and prove a US person under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) for all employees of Chemring Energetic Devices.
3. Function effectively in a multi-tasking, fast-paced environment.
4. Work effectively with personnel from all departments and all levels of the company.
5. Must be highly motivated, able to work independently and a self-starter.
