The Door and Window specialist works with builders, architects, and homeowners, assisting in choosing the best products, to fit their needs. Through this process they will build long standing relationships and gain customer base.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Clearly prepare sales tickets, including unit prices, extensions, and all vendor/sku information needed for showroom staff to expedite
· Provide customers with quotes in a timely fashion, and keep customers informed when we are running beyond original expectation
· Approve returns, create supplier returns and issue credit notes to customers, using HLC policy, to ensure proper credit is collected from vendor and inventory levels are accurate.
· Continually learning new products and improve on selling skills. Attend vendor and outside sourced training seminars to sharpen skills. Remain well informed about Millwork industry through vendors, customers, and/or trade magazines
· Share new information of products, pricing, etc.… to department heads and team members when necessary
· Exercise the ability to balance the workload while continuing to help prioritize walk in customers and phone calls
· Maintain a positive attitude and a team player. Act as a mentor to others, sharing sales knowledge, best practices, to advance not only individual but departmental and organizational goals but in the spirit of teamwork
· DWS will always use best judgement, thinking of what is best for your team members as well as the company, and when in doubt ask supervisor or another team member
· If information is not at hand, do everything within your power to assure customer you will find the correct information, and a reasonable amount of time and call back even if you have nothing to offer yet
· Direct customer through the store or to specific areas that the customer requests, including the
Warehouse/yard. Always make the customer feel that they are welcome, and comfortable in the store and showroom
· A self-starter who manages time and activities with little day to day guidance or interaction from management
· Handle customer complaints, and call on your department head to work out the best solutions.
· Clearly write and accurately price orders with assigned margins by Dept manager. (See Department discount sheet) Request signatures on all special orders, after complete review of order with customer.
· Familiar with HLC receiving and shipping process
· Helping maintain housekeeping and displays in showroom, filling literature as necessary
· Familiar with items on sale, and promotional events
· Being able to demonstrate the use of merchandise when requested
· Display a professional attitude, and demeanor, including courteous interactions with team members and other company leaders
· Actively contribute to the work of the sales and other department teams and promote high standards of customer service by creating energy and enthusiasm
· Assuming other duties as workload and need dictate
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
· Minimum high school education.
· College or professional level education preferred.
· Minimum two - five years’ experience in similar position.
· Work independently and resourcefully
· Must be motivated, flexible, and innovative.
· Have excellent interpersonal skills.
· Display a professional appearance.
· Ability to think through problems using common sense and foresight.
· Strong computer skills and ability to comfortably read/quote from blueprints.
· Organized and ability to multi-task.
· Excellent listening skills.
