Description
- Demonstrates the ability to perform physical exams on all patients, neonate through the geriatric population.
- Obtains and documents patient's medical history. Identifies health risk factors.
- Demonstrates the ability to diagnose and treat common acute illnesses.
- Demonstrates the ability to diagnose and treat chronic illnesses such as diabetes and hypertension.
- Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic tests within established scope of practice and consults with medical director or specialists, i.e., laboratory work, x-rays.
- Provides well childcare; women's healthcare, family planning, and prenatal care as approved under delineation of privileges.
- Demonstrates the ability to prescribe medications pursuant to the rules and regulations of the Louisiana State Board of Nursing, Louisiana State Board of Pharmacy and Drug Enforcement Agency and non-pharmacological therapies based on the patient's diagnoses, health history and age.
- Encourages positive health behaviors for the maintenance of health and the prevention of disease. This is done through education and counseling.

Requirements
Education: Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner's Program
Experience: Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license in the State of Louisiana (or valid compact state) in good standing.
Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Other Requirements:
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Able to perform minor office surgeries, apply splints, I&D
- BLS/ACLS Certification required
- Current, valid DEA and CDS licenses required (for applicable specialties)
Salary Description
$70,000 - $85,000 annually
