POSITION SUMMARY
The individual in this role is responsible for achieving sales and margin targets for assigned accounts. They oversee all aspects of the account base and establish strategic business relationships to maximize growth potential. The Account Manager focuses on increasing sales and market share while maintaining a strong emphasis on margins.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales and margin targets.
- Actively pursue sales opportunities and collaborate with various departments to drive them to fruition.
- Monitor and manage sales and margin performance for assigned accounts.
- Handle pricing negotiations and manage pricing strategies for assigned accounts.
- Work closely with the forecasting and planning team to ensure optimal product availability and prevent excess inventory.
- Execute targeted sales and margin initiatives to drive growth and profitability.
- Identify and profile potential new accounts for business expansion.
- Prepare yearly forecasts for sales and margins for assigned accounts.
- Collaborate with department managers to address and resolve customer-related issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Visit customer facilities and attend trade shows as required to maintain customer relationships and explore new business opportunities.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of each assigned account, including their needs, preferences, and market dynamics.
- Monitor accounts, analyze lost sales, and take proactive measures to regain business.
- Liaise with customer service to ensure high service levels and resolve any customer concerns.
- Provide feedback to management regarding customer needs, market trends, and competition.
- Develop a deep knowledge of the industry, market landscape, product line, and competitors.
- Utilize computer programs effectively to perform job duties.
- Ensure prompt resolution of customer concerns related to pricing, deliveries, quality, and warranties.
- Promote a collaborative work environment, encouraging effective communication and cross-training initiatives to enhance team productivity, versatility, and skill development.
- Undertakes additional responsibilities and tasks as directed by management.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, & Skills required)
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 7+ years of sales experience, preferably after-market.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook. BAAN experience preferred.
- Ability and willingness to travel.
- Demonstrates the ability to design workflows and procedures, generate innovative solutions, identify and resolve issues promptly, and coordinate projects effectively.
- Displays proficiency in project management and coordination.
