Reports to: Steakhouse Manager
General Purpose:
To provide support and assistance to servers and host(ess) that pertain to the setup, reset and breakdown of dining areas, preparing for dining periods and assisting throughout service by maintaining a clean and welcoming dining room and service stations throughout service.
Essential Duties:
- Communication amongst co-workers is key while setting up for a new shift to be sure we are properly prepared for service.
- Maintain a welcoming, friendly, and professional demeanor throughout the shift. Greet members by their last name and appropriate title or honorific.
- Arrive on time for scheduled shift
- Communicate with co-workers, including manager, supervisor or host(ess) to ensure correct setup for coming meal period
- Build floor plan and tables as directed by host(ess) or management
- Prepare heaters or open doors depending on weather conditions
- Set up required sanitation and bussing stations
- Clean any surfaces and areas as needed
- Attend line up, for special events and notes.
- Provide bread and water service
- Use trays when providing any type of service.
- Serve drinks from the right with right hand, and food from the left, with left hand whenever practical
- Clear tables from the right, and reset with appropriately.
- Maintain the linen room in order and clean.
- Polish required plateware, glassware and flatware for service including reset
- Break down stations at end of service
- Reset for coming shift and prepare backups
- Clean side stations and equipment
- Continually reset and turn tables for incoming members
- Maintaining an elegant level of service regardless of business volume
Education/Experience: Minimum Requirements
Six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience.
Preferred Requirements/Skillset
· Previous Bussing Experience in a Fine Dining environment
· Ability to communicate effectively with team members
· Self-motivated and driven
Physical Demands:
Frequently stands, walks, tastes, smells, talks, listens, uses hands, and reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds. Available to work flexible hours.
Environment/Noise:
Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather), near moving mechanical parts, near fumes or airborne particles, with toxic or caustic chemicals and in extreme heat or cold (non-weather). Noise level is moderate.
Special Notes:
· BIGHORN is a drug and alcohol-free work place
· Cellphones may not be used in certain work areas or specific periods and you may be required to store your phone should it be required by management.
Certificates/Licenses:
Food Safety and Applicable Sanitation Training.
RBS or equivalent Alcohol Awareness Training
