Department: Food and Beverage
Reports to: Steakhouse Manager
General Purpose:
To manage dining volume and business flow in such as way as to ensure the best possible food and service experience while accommodating the largest number of members possible.
Essential Duties:
- Maintain a welcoming, friendly, and professional demeanor throughout the shift. Adress members by their last name and appropriate title or honorific.
- Seats members and guests at correct tables
- Communicates any potential issues immediately
- Manages floor in OpenTable at all times, blocking tables, assigning tables and finishing reservations to allow for availability planning (Ensures that OpenTable and floor matches at all times)
- Assists with answering phones and taking reservations
- Checks Open Table for Reservations and Reservation Notes
- Assign Tables Accordingly to business flow and special requests
- Assign Server Sections
- Communicate floor plan and special settings to Bussers and Servers
- Ensures menus are correct and ready for coming shift
- Stock all required items for service
- Ensure correct music, TV Channels and Lighting
- Cross Check Floor, Tables, and Chairs
- Assist with Final Setup Details
- Log and Seat Parties in OpenTable including vistit notes such as dining companions or unaccompanied guests.
- Finish all reservations in OpenTable at end of shift
- Review Next Shift reservations and communicate any special setup
- Post notes for following shift if appropriate
Education/Experience: Minimum Requirements
Six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience.
Preferred Requirements/Skillset
· Host(ess) experience in a high volume/fast paced environment
· Ability to communicate effectively with team members
· Ability to utilize OpenTable other platforms
Physical Demands:
Frequently stands, walks, tastes, smells, talks, listens, uses hands, and reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds. Available to work flexible hours.
Environment/Noise:
Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather), near moving mechanical parts, near fumes or airborne particles, with toxic or caustic chemicals and in extreme heat or cold (non-weather). Noise level is moderate.
Special Notes:
· BIGHORN is a drug and alcohol-free work place
· Cellphones may not be used in certain work areas or specific periods and you may be required to store your phone should it be required by management.
Certificates/Licenses:
Food Safety and Applicable Sanitation Training.
RBS or equivalent Alcohol Awareness Training
This position is seasonal.
