Job Summary:

The Administrator is responsible for the overall direction of Hospice operations & clinical services. The Administrator establishes, implements, and evaluates goals and objectives for home health services that meet and promote the standards of quality and contribute to the total organization and philosophy.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, direct and evaluate operations to      ensure the provision of adequate and appropriate care and services for the      Agency. This includes providing supervision and oversight for that      location.
  • Provide expert guidance and assistance to Agency staff      in all matters relating to the delivery of home health services to assure      that quality standards are maintained, and federal and state regulations      are met. Oversee the provision of patient care for the Agency, according      to established policies and standards.
  • Implement governing body directives and ensure the      implementation of organizational policies and procedures, as well as the      development and implementation of appropriate services, and policies.      Assure documentation of services provided is accurate and timely.
  • Employ, contract, recruit, manage, and direct      qualified personnel to carry out the policies and procedures of the      Agency. Ensure adequate staff education and evaluation. Ensure staff      development including orientation, in-service education, continuing education,      and evaluation of staff.
  • Direct and monitor organizational Performance      Improvement activities.
  • Participate in the review, analysis, and appraisal of      the effectiveness of the total Agency program. Evaluate service policies      and functions, and recommend proposals for changes or study of problems      with affect the Agency.
  • Establish a public relations program, ensuring the      accuracy of information materials and activities, for interpretation of      the Agency’s services and to foster good working relations with physicians      and community agencies.
  • Maintain office facility for the Agency which is large      enough for efficient staff work, adequately equipped, and provides for a      safe working environment, meeting local ordinances and fire regulations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $100,000.00 per year

Experience:

  • Kinsser: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Administrator: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Hospice: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • RN License (Preferred)

Requirements

Experience:

  • At least two years of management or leadership experience in a health-related setting, such as a home and community support services, Agency, hospital, nursing facility, hospice, outpatient rehabilitation center, psychiatric facility, intermediate care facility for persons with mental retardation or related conditions, or a licensed health care delivery setting providing services for individuals with functional disabilities. 
  • Two years of experience in nursing management.  

Skills:

  • The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all segments of the staff, the lay and professional public, the Board of Directors, the Advisory Board, and the Medical Director. 
  • Shall be able to read, write, and comprehend English. 
  • Comply with required training for Administration of Agencies Texas Specific: (TAC 97.259 and/or TAC 97.260.).

Education:

  • Graduate from an accredited college/university is required. (if hired on or after January 13th, 2018, a degree is required; those employed with the Agency and promoted from within may be considered with a High School Diploma or GED) , with experience/education in the healthcare field. 
  • It may be a licensed physician, RN licensed social worker, licensed therapist, or licensed nursing home administrator with at least one year of management or supervisory experience in a health-related setting, as stated under Experience.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Current State professional license as a Physician, Registered Nurse, or Therapist (if Education above is not met, and if hired on or after January 13th, 2018),

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged sitting is required.
  • Ability to always handle stressful situations calmly and courteously.
  • It requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and agency needs.

Environmental/Working Conditions:

  • Works in an office environment, promoting efficient functioning and coordination of all Agency activities to ensure the highest level of professional client care.
  • Available to Agency personnel in person or by telephone during the Agency operating hours and possibly after hours for emergencies.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Some exposure to unpleasant weather.
  • Ability to travel.
